About

Metalman Brewing was born in 2011 when two beer enthusiasts decided they’d had enough of the outlandishly limited selection of beer available in Ireland, and decided to do something about it.

They started by contract brewing at a small brewery in Tipperary while building a brewery in Waterford city with a 6.5HL brewhouse. Draught Metalman started popping up in all sorts of places, and various brewery upgrades followed. At the end of 2014, they installed the first canning line at an Irish microbrewery, and cans of Metalman Pale Ale hit the shelves in January 2015. A brewhouse upgrade to 24HL followed later that year, as did various seasonal and limited edition releases, and lots of fun!

The years progressed, more beers were brewed, a bar was opened, pandemics struck, and in 2022, new things finally beckoned. In February of 2022, the Metalman Brewing team decided to move onto something different. Production in Tycor was handed over to long-time collaborators and friends, Hopfully Brewing, and the two beer enthusiasts took a well earned break.

As of spring 2022, Metalman Brewing is on hiatus, while schemes are plotted and plans are hatched.

Whatever next?
